The Ala Moana beach is often referred to as “The Path to the Sea”. This is a great place to spend your days especially since its free for tourists to visit. The Ala Moana Beach is located on the island of Oahu, between downtown Honolulu and Waikiki. There is over 100 acres located around the beach which offers tons of space for visitors. With big grassy areas, palm trees, and banyans its the perfect place to have a picnic after a long day of swimming and beach activities.

The water here is calm most of the time so its great for those who are looking to swim close to shore or who are traveling with children. It also contains a 25 foot channel that is dedicated for deep swimming.

This beautiful beach does offer several amenities including on duty life guards, food concessions, music pavilion, showers, restrooms, picnic tables, and even a tennis court. Many families from Honolulu travel to this particular beach during the weekends to spend time together doing things such as swimming and picnicking. Many individuals also choose to come here to surf and bodyboard.

If you are looking for a great place to hang out for the day to enjoy beach activities and even have a BBQ as the sunsets this is the perfect place. Whether you are looking to spend the evening alone with your significant other or take the whole family everyone will be pleased.

You will want to avoid swimming near the boat channels located on each side of the beach park. Also at times there may be swift tidal changes and strong undercurrents so itís advised that you check out any warnings that are posted throughout the beach and never swim alone.
